Is Walsh Alertable?

Hi David Playing Strong and Fives, Partner opens 1c which I announce as: “Could be as short as 2”. Playing Walsh: 1. With 10 hcp and 4=2=5=2 shape I would respond 1s bypassing the longer diamonds. Is this alertable? 2. With 13 hcp and the same shape I would respond 1d. Is this alertable or, perhaps, announced?

Answer

Following what is says in the Blue book neither seems to be alertable. I can imagine opponents finding this upsetting on very rare occasions but I should not worry.
