Hi Julian,
In post analysis my partner said a double followed by a bid was unconditionally forcing ( but she forgot and passed ).
I am too weak to double and bid. Would it have been better to double again or maybe just pass ?
Answer
With the North hand i would either overcall 1D and then double or double twice. On the actual auction North has not promised support for the majors, merely a hand that was too strong for a 1D overcall.
2D was not forcing. your partner with such a flat hand was right to pass.
